W5r2 why, god, why!!!

Run 2 of week 5 done and the last 8 minutes seemed to last forever. Not looking forward to run 3 (20 minutes for those who haven’t done it yet or are too scared to look at upcoming runs). I shall persevere with smile upon my face (ok, maybe not the smile). Determined to complete the course and start building up gradually to a half marathon in April.

Well done Dave, the step up may seem a lot, but honestly it's fine. Your body is now used to doing vigorous activity for that length of time. Like everyone else, I was dreading this one, but you are ready for it, you'll smash it!!

Hahaha!!! Seriously though, take it slowly, pace yourself, you'll be fine.

Trust the programme and have faith in yourself... you are ready for it.. take it slow and steady...one foot in front of the other.. that is all it takes:)

Keep pushing through and good luck.

Can I just ask you not to quite so blatantly state what the duration of upcoming runs is. Many try to avoid finding out beforehand, because they worry. How they can follow the forum and not know is a mystery to me, but it would be good to preserve their innocence, if that is their wish.

By the way, your last run was a total of 21 minutes between warm up and cool down, so the next one is shorter.

Interestingly, I found run 3 of week 5 far more pleasurable than runs 1 and 2 (which I didn't much care for...). You'll see. 😀

PS you are ready for run 3; this is what the programme has been preparing you for. And my god! The high of running for 20 mins for the first time is unbeatable. Get excited. No fear!

I just did w5r3. Knackered but got through it! I’ve not run since I was 10 so if I did it anyone can!
