Well, that wasn't easy, but then none of them are.
Decided to do an 'Out and Back' route that I planned on MapMyRun, seems like a useful little tool, strangely enough I've been called that myself but I digress, organised my run so that I start from home with my 5 minute walk, do my run (out and back), and 5 minute cool down should get me home ... and its not by accident that the five minute walk is all up hill ....
Will I was within 50m of where I mapped my start to be, 5 minutes at 6km/h = 500m I managed 450m going up hill, but was well and truly warmed up ...
"ok It's time to run ..." set MapMyRun going and my Fitbit tracker app and I was off ... steady away, and as you can see by the route, nothing complicated ... more or less dead straight ... plod, plod, plod, but the nice lady on MapMyRun kept telling me my intervals were 6:20/6:22, that's about 9.4km/h, what the heck was I doing .... Grrr ... slow down ...
Managed to get it slowed down at the bell, time to turn around, really annoying gradient for about 1.5km barely perceptible, only tired legs could have spotted it ... keep going ...
5 minutes to go, legs were a bit tired, that last minute "increase your speed, finish on a high ..." err ... no ... the bell went, time to stop ... couldn't control my feet, flap, flap, flap, it was as if some bone thief had stolen every bone below my knees ... there is a little junction on the cool down walk back, and its a little sharp down hill section .... good job there was no traffic, because I was not stopping ... couldn't I'd god the momentum and I was powerless to fight against it ....
Managed to get home without being run-over, got some fluids into me, had a shower, a cuppa and a banana, and here I am telling the tale .... I feel fine now, fair enough, I'm not capable of running to the loo, but I'm good. Looking forward to Friday and putting Week 7 to bed ...
I hope everyone else is completing their objectives this week ...
