Thanks I usually make the mistake of thinking I can do better than this then end up giving up! Determined to stick to the plan this time though xx

Hi Lauren, Well done on completing your first run...😊

The plan works, just take the run sections nice and steady, a gentle jog is all that's required.

You positively will be able to stick with it, as your stamina and confidence build with every run...it's fun and we are here to help and encourage you...

Do some gentle stretches after your warm down walk while your muscles are still warm and take at least one rest day between runs.

Good luck with W1 R2😊x

Well done :-) You've started a great programme. Keep going you'll amaze your self with the progress you make.

Well done for getting off the starting blocks, you've done a great thing by even doing that :) There a load of couch potatoes still on the couch, you've already beaten them!!

I think most of the clever stuff has been said. My running suddenly became easier when I realised that if I start to tire, I should slow down. It doesn't matter if you're nearly at walking pace, if you're running, it totally counts. Slow down to where you feel you could manage the run, then think about something else to take your mind off it. I was in your situation, and now I can run for 25 minutes non-stop. I usually have a "I can't do this!!" moment in the first 5 minutes, but I've learned to ignore the gremlins (because that's what they are!), think about something else, and continue, and you know what, it's fine :) You'll be fine, you can do this. Oh - and don't worry about what's coming up next week. As you get fitter you will be able to cope with all of the challenges the program throws at you. And if for some reason you can't complete a session? So what! Have a rest day, give it another go. It's not a race, really. It's not even about distance, just about running for 30 minutes.

Your positive attitude will help loads though. Can't wait to see how you get on over the next days and weeks. :)

All the best, Neil

Thank you all so much for your support. Your right I've made a big step in actually running not just thinking about it and making excuses. So glad I've got this forum to keep me motivated xx
