W4R1 Easier than I expected

During Week 3, I always found the 3 minute runs extremely tiring, especially the second repetition, so I was dreading Week 4.

However, when I did my first Week 4 run yesterday, it was a lot easier than I expected, especially as part of the route is on a pretty steep incline. That must mean that this program is working :) I definitely would not have been able to managed that much running four weeks ago!

I can't wait until I can get to the stage where I can run continuously for 30 minutes :)

Brilliant! I completed w4r1 yesterday also and looking forward to run 2 tomorrow - Looking forward to getting to the end of the 9 weeks and 30 mins run also! 😀

Good to hear - did week 3 run 3 today and slightly dreading starting week 4 on Saturday....

So you started a programme designed to get you running for thirty minutes, yet you are dreading the prospect of running for five minutes............... I never understand this logic.............you should be excited about moving your fitness to the next level and proud of the progress you have made to date.

There is nothing to fear. You cannot fail this programme unless you head back to the couch for good.

Believe in the plan to do amazing things to your amazing body and enjoy the journey.

The logic is fairly simple really! I'm pleased with what I've done so far, & like others have said looking forward to running a full 30 minutes in the future. At the same time it's a step up and based on previous weeks it'll be tough to start with so perfectly reasonable to be apprehensive. There's no 'should' about it, just how I feel.

It's the same as some people hating going to the dentist even though it's a good thing really!

Sorry, still don't get it.

I have never dreaded the dentist either, which I am willing to accept may be because of the lack of some component in my psychological make up, that is present in many others.

This programme really does work. Trust it to prepare you and do not doubt it or yourself.

Well done, keep up the progress.

Im so glad to read this. I am struggling with the second 3 minute run. My legs and breathing are fine, so I do think it's more mental. But yes, I wait in dread at the thought of week 4
