So I am doing week 2 run 1 this afternoon and feeling a little apprehensive as I was still struggling with the week 1 runs but going to take the plunge, have invested in some proper running shoes so hopefully they will help.
Starting week 2: So I am doing week 2 run 1 this... - Couch to 5K
Starting week 2
I was there a week ago. Somehow your body makes the leap from 60s to 90s. Hang in there! Good luck
You will be fine just believe you can do it and don't listen to your head or your aching legs! It really is mind over matter.
I was the same and did an extra run week 1 as I struggled to do 60secs. But definitely think your better to move on as something just clicks and your able to do it. I've completed week 3 run 1 today and never believed 2 weeks ago I would be able to run 3 mins continuously.
Keep going at the programme and your stamina and fitness will improve with each run. It's addictive! 😀
Just trust the plan. Its progression is carefully devised. Each week prepares you for the next one.
You can only fail this by going permanently back to the couch, so accept the challenge and the very worst thing that can happen is that if you do not complete a run, then you repeat it.
Develop the runner's mentality of believing. You don't start a one hundred mile race if you don't believe you are going to finish. These workouts may be beyond your experience, but we believe you can do it, like countless thousands before you.
Go for it.
Hope u managed it
I found W1R3 harder than week2 . Good luck
Just take it easy and jog slowly. You can absolutely do this!
At the end of each week I think I'm not yet ready to move onto the next week but when the time comes I just tell myself I'll do as much as I can manage
So far I've managed it all
I may be slow but yesterday I completed W5R3 and ran for 20 mins in one go- even today that still seems crazy!!
So literally just take 1step at a time and just keep putting 1 foot in front of the other
You'll be amazed how well you'll do
This plan is pure genius!!
Good Luck
Every increase in time scared the crap out of me. I could see "the dream" crumble before I even went out the door.
But - when they said this programme works, they weren't kidding. Sure- less than ten percent of us Graduates did it "on time/with distance" as a survey we did here showed - but we all made it.
Slow and Steady, at your own pace. Just keep on gearing up and going out the door - the run will take you where it will, one step at a time.
Just NEVER skip a Rest day and you will be fine.
Wishing you many happy miles in your future
I did W2R1 this morning and found it difficult tbh. Not sure whether to go back to W1 or persevere to W2R2 and see how I go
I hope it went well 👍
