Uncharacteristicly, I had been looking forward to tonight's run. Even a bad day at work and the ritual fight against the sports bra didn't phase me at all π
It was getting dark pretty quickly but I chose a run in the park - maybe not the wisest choice because I soon couldn't see where my feet were landing.
But I did it..!! Week 4 done, who'd have thought it..?? Certainly not me. It felt fantastic..!!
My running buddy who, I'd like to point out (whilst gloating), is 19 years younger than me has struggled a bit with week 4. She's not quite managing the 5 minute stints. I have slowed to elderly sloth pace, which has kept me going, whereas she tends to overtake me at speed and then conks out 25 yards ahead.
She doesn't feel quite ready for week 5 so I think I'll do W5R1 on Thursday (in a well lit area π) while she repeats W4R3 at the gym. Hopefully Saturday she will feel ready for W5R1 and I'll repeat that run alongside her.
We ventured into this together and we shall continue together ..... unless she completely conks out, then I shall continue to sloth it alone π
Come on week 5, I'm ready for you...!!! π

Well done you, sounds like you are doing an amazing job of it! And all the while running is sinking its claw into you, making you fall in love with it! Hmmm that analogy doesn't quite work but hey! Good luck for next week you will do great (no piggy backs allowed now though)
Thank you, I will. There's usually 2 of us + 1 dog. As I'll be solo on Thursday I think I might run at work (on a golf course) before it gets dark.
OMG, fighting OUT of the damn thing (with the addition of post run 'fluid') is a workout in itself..!! Sometimes I just sink to the floor and cry ππ
Looking forward to it, I'll keep you posted π
When do you enter W5 (or have you already)..?? π€
Elderly sloth pace sounds about right. That's how you'll build up stamina. Maybe you need to get your running buddy in here so that Oldfloss can give her some wise words about "Slow and Steady".
