Week 7 in the bag!

Got up this morning, running gear on, got junior brekkie and procrastinated for a while whilst looking out at the puddles and drizzle. Motivated by my shiny new Garmin I got son onto his bike and we finally set off for week 7 run3. I have to say I loved the watch. Managed to pace myself better which meant I had a little left in the tank at the end. Pushed myself a bit quicker for the last 5 mins and week 7 is done. We should have a new recruit this afternoon as my friend is heading out to do week 1 and I have offered to go with her. It will be interesting to go back and redo week 1 which I struggled with the first time round. I'm still a little bemused by the fact that I can actually run for 25mins. This programme is brilliant and I certainly wouldn't have got this far on my own. I'm trying to find my brave pants as my grad run should coincide with parkrun but I have never ran with other company so shall probably cop out! Feeling a bit nervous about week 8 but shall worry about that on Wed.

Don't cop out! You will regret it if you do. You will always be thinking "what if" So go ahead. Parkruns are for everyone, all ages and abilities so don't worry at all. They're designed for people like us. Go for it

Well done on progress so far and for going out in the rain. You'll find that drizzle is your friend

Thank you. As a 42 year old female with a tendency to overheat I do actually enjoy the rain once I get going. I'm a little worries that I would mess up at the parkrun and don't want to do that if I get that far but we shall see. It shall maybe become a postgrad goal.

Don't be nervous about week 8, they are all consolidation runs now so you will settle into things. Well done on your progress.

Thank you.

Where is your park run ? Is it a flat one ? You should do it, there are all sorts there and you will fit right in if you have done the programme up until then. Depending on what time you are expecting to run the 5k in you could ask to run with the tail runner to get your confidence up. Go on !!

Well done for offering to go with your friend, I am sure she will get as much out of it as you obviously have.

Ormeau Park in Belfast. it is fairly flat, no big hills. I am running between 4 & 4.5km in my 25 minute runs at the minute. I haven't ran with other people since I was at school.

Oh good luck and it would be fab to hear how you get on. Thank you.

Ooh, I think you will be too fast for the tailrunner ! Definitely give parkrun a go. It's FUN !

Well done on completing week 7 Thp - I've got the 3rd run in week 7 tomorrow (may do a 4th one depending on how I get on as week 1 was before my hols ;) ) and it's always good to know how others are finding the runs. Good luck for week 8, and for being a "bestest buddy" and getting your friend going on C25k!

:)
