a 20 minute lunchtime interlude, and the "strap saver"

Conversation with self went like this:

"You haven't run since Monday, so you're due a run..."

"Yeah, but I overslept, and I won't want to go this evening because of reasons"

"True, and you haven't done any rest day exercise either and you know the way you sit is bad for your knees, maybe you should do a bit of yoga"

"oh hmm.. but I want to run"

... wait what? I really want to run?

"Week 9, though. It's surprisingly hot out and that lack of exercise might be catching up with you"

"If you leave it any more 'rest days' that habit won't be forming as well"

"Ok, how about... a 20 minute jog round the park before lunch?"

"Ok, Week 9 can start on Saturday, when I feel more prepared"

"WAIT HAVE A DRINK ... oh, she's gone.."

So I went for my jog, bit dehydrated (will be more careful normally, honest), and now I can really say I'm one of those people who "goes for a run at lunchtime", and after this post I will be ready to attack an afternoon's work, clearheaded.

Also I tested out a nifty bit of kit - having whined about how I'm so short and sports bra straps aren't adjustable enough, I found this - thestrapsaver.com/. It's amazing and the ladies who invented and sell it are fabulous. Their phone number spells out BOOB-FIX. I love them.

I also went back to regular socks, because those nice cushioned sports socks just become really sweaty cushions, which was just weird, and I thought I'd see if I was imagining it but no, I think I'm slightly more comfortable in regular socks for now.

Right, back to work!

Can you lovely lot also make sure I do *something* tomorrow? A sun salutation perhaps? Just the one would be better than none! Maybe just a plank, or some squats? (I seem to have heard those are good. No idea where I've picked that up!)

Ucklegui the strap saver may have to be nominated for next year's BRAFTAs...

A lunchtime runner getting you seriously towards the podium...

The strap savers are amazing! I need them to invent more things like this. As for the BRAFTAs, now I can properly test out so many previously rejected sports bras... uh oh...

Oh the conversations we have with ourselves, eh?! Ha ha ha! Well done on getting out and running. Good work! :-) I would love to run at lunchtime but I am on The Strand in London, and the pollution is foul and too many people. Not even a good park in running distance. Meh. x

Argh, yep. I am lucky - I can work at home a lot of the time and home is opposite a little park and some other good roads. Work is near a laaaarge park (ok ... London, Hyde Park) ... but I wouldn't dare attempt to run from work yet, especially at lunchtime. Serious people run from work at lunchtime and then brave the work showers!

I want to be a 'run at lunch time' kind of person too!! Far too sweat and rancid for all that though, I'd need a full hose down after! I love it that other people have these types of conversation, thanks for sharing. I too have dumped cushioned socks, they soak up morning dew through my trainers, rub and blister my instep. How very dare they?!! :)

Glad it's not just me! Ridiculously I think they'll make better socks for lounging in due to the cushioning. Oh well, at least there's one bit of "kit" I don't want more of!
