Have my biggest challenge tomorrow the

20 minute run. Will be so pleased with myself if I can get through it, I never thought that taking up running at 56 would be an option for me, but I am giving it a go!!

You will. If you have followed the programme to this point then you are ready. The first of the longer runs - you've got this!

The biggest challenge is starting the programme! Yes, 20 mins is a step up, but you've been stepping up all the way to it, so stay positive and steady as you go 😊

I did the 20 min on my 57th birthday in the midday heat.

I'd just woken after 2 night shifts & sat in bed drinking tea & coming up with every excuse I could think of not to do it.

Then I thought about how proud (and smug!) I would feel at my birthday meal that evening!

Words cannot express how happy I was & it made my day.

It will make yours too - it's only 4 lots of 5 mins - go for it! 🏃🏃🏃🏃

Ooo, W5R3...it's all psychological...you're already wondering if you can't do it...the simple answer is...YES YOU CAN!! Those gremlins show themselves big time on this run...relax, take your time & just enjoy it...don't over think it & if you're flagging, slow right down...good luck

I started at 57, Steve.

It changed my life.

You've got it, if you believe in yourself.

I started at 56 too. The gremlins were shouring loud at the start of w5r3 but, following advice from lots of people here, I slowed it down and squished them all! The swnse of satisfaction at thw end of this run is amazing, it's a real turning point in the program. Go for it. You will feel amazing - and wonder why you waited 56 years to start!
