My 20 minute run is coming up tomorrow and I'm trying to be positive, but it just feels like such a jump! I expect that most felt this way. Any tips to help get through?

Slow and steady; the previous runs have trained you to do it, it is hard but do-able.

I remember feeling the same, 20 minutes seems massive but somehow I got through it without too much trouble. My advice would be not to dwell on it too much, just start running as normal and concentrate on keeping an easy pace. As the podcast says, the course has prepared you for this and it has been proven to work.

You'll feel a massive sense of achievement when you finish so just keep looking forward to that, and be sure to celebrate!!

I felt the same too, it does seem like a massive jump but somehow it works. Just start steadily and don't panic, at this stage it's as much about getting your mind to keep going as anything. Listen to Laura and as Inmind said above, you will feel so pleased with yourself when you've done it. good luck!

My best advice would be reiterate what the others have said and to trust in the podcast and the hard work you have already put in. It seems like a big jump but you have trained for it and it wouldn't be in the programme if it was something you couldn't do. Also focus on the end and how you'll feel once you've done it and can say that you ran for 20 minutes without stopping! Its a good feeling and should get you through the tough parts.

I'm doing the same run as you tomorrow and I'm feeling daunted too. Let's just imagine that we are running together and will pull each other along, we will get through it. Let us know how it goes afterwards!

You'll be fine.

Just keep the pace steady & be prepared to slow down a bit if you are finding it tough. Remember that all the training you've done so far has brought you to this point. You CAN do it!!

Good luck!

I'm also hoping to do my 20 min run tomorrow morning. I'm so apprehensive. Just found this forum and was about to post the same thing.

Best of luck, hope it goes well for all of us!

well done for getting this far, now listen you are halfway through the programme and as Laura will tell you-you can do this, you have done all the hard work, believe in yourself-it does work, you can do it, you are a runner and when you have completed your first 20 min run you will feel awesome, on top of the world.

Yes we all felt exactly the same way nervous, self conscious, tearing hair out lol but we did it , now go have fun :-)

Same for Inky and Squaremum, good luck guys, you can do it, looking forward to reading your posts :-)

Oh yeah! I did it! So happy; at first I was going to put if off until tomorrow I was so worked up my stomach was upset. But I thought of all your words of encouragement and laced up and just started. Thanks everyone!
