2nd Try.... Completed.

Just a quick update. I completed the 1st run of week 1. After the failed attempt on Tuesday I'm pleased that I got it done today.

I haven't ran in years and so after completing this today with my overweight, unfit self, it's given me a boost to continue.

I'll be honest. It wasn't easy but I just tried to concentrate on my breathing instead of panting like a dog & that seemed to work.

I am already looking forward to my 2nd run which will be on Saturday.

Thank you. I sure hope so. Well after all, that's what this is all about isn't it. Leaving the old self behind and trying to be a fitter new self.

I try and stop panting and hold my head up as I go past anyone walking a dog etc.

That's exactly what I did today as the dog walkers past me. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

If you are panting then your pace is too fast for your current fitness level. Slow down and you will enjoy the whole experience so much more.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. I did slow down and actually found it easier to manage. Any slower though and I would've been going at a fast walking speed.

Well done on getting it done. First is always the worst....
