Hi all and welcome to my first post about my C25K journey. Today was W3R2 so still in the early stages of the plan but finding myself looking forward to each new challenge that the plan throws my way.

When I started 2 weeks ago running for 60 seconds was beyond my expectations. I did my very first run around the garden just in case I was unable to keep walking never mind running for 60 seconds at a time. The dog kept me company for the first couple of circuits then gave up and sat in the middle just watching me go round and round.

Fast forward to this morning and I was up and out at 7am, too early for the dog who just glared at me from his bed. Despite the constant drizzle I was buzzing when I got back. 3 minutes running is not easy but nothing will be as hard for me as the first 60 seconds of week 1. Like many I find the first run of each workout tough but then find a rhythm which carries me along. I'm already relishing the idea of running for 5 mins next week!

Having been too scared to leave the garden today I managed 3.8km during the workout today. Above all I am loving the plan and like that I don't have to think when to run or how to build up my distances.

Anyway, loving reading of everyone's journey and look forward to updating my own. πŸ˜€

You're doing great, don't be afraid to slow down a little as the time builds up, if you try to go too far too fast too soon you won't finish the run and you may end up feeling beaten.

Always remember though, there is no such thing as a failed run, it's a practice run, nothing more.

Keep doing what you are doing.

Love this post! Please make your dog a recurring theme of your updates, and include a picture. I love dogs.🐢 I am about to do run 3 of week 3, so we are at the same stage of the programme. I too am pretty amazed at what I have achieved so far! Well done and happy running!

Hi and thank you! Lovely to "meet" someone at the same stage of the plan. What an achievement already. Look forward to sharing stories with you. Well done to you too and keep running. I'll add a pic of our 2 dogs (German Shepherd and a Great Dane) next time as I'm not sure how to other than on a new post lol

Well done you.

Why are you worried about leaving the garden? Your worries are probably the same as those that most of us had at one time, but soon realised that by donning running gear, you become virtually invisible. If anyone sees you out in the wonderful world, they will probably pay you very little attention......too wrapped up in their own lives.

I worry that in a year's time you will be posting that you have just completed a marathon and that there is no grass left in your garden.

Go on.........you know you want to!

Lol thank you. I left the garden for W1R2 and haven't looked back πŸ˜€ As I guess most people do, I thought I would never be able to complete the first workout and was worried I would head off only to keel over and have to phone home for rescue assistance.

I live out in the countryside and love being out and about nice and early when the only other people I see are farmers and the odd deer!

Slow and steady and well done you... one of our most awesome runners started with a garden run!!!! :)

Forget speed and distance... just one slow step in front of the other... that is all it needs:)
