W5R2, a run of two halves.

Thank you m'dears for all the messages of support and encouragement that helped me have the courage to try this run! You were right, of course, it WAS do-able.

The first 8 mins were great, I'd just seen a siskin in the hedge (ok, I know now it's a siskin, at the time I though it was a budgie(!!), thank you RSPB bird identifier) and was thinking I'd get some seed for our feeder to see if we could get them in the garden when Laura announced I only had 60 seconds left on that run...I was well proud and grinning like a loony.

The 5 minute walk came and went too soon (will I EVER really be ready when she asks??), but about 30 seconds into the next 8 min run and coming round the bend I ran into best beloved walking the dog. Total embarrassment - he's never seen me jogging before - I picked up my pace to try and impress him and then took ages to get back into the rhythm once we'd passed each other so the rest of that run was blooming hard work. But...I did it! :o)

Thank you! I've now read the plan for R3 though, it seems I have ANOTHER serious challenge ahead of me :o(

Brilliant...told ya' you could do it! :)

Very well done... for the run, the bird recognition and the impressing the husband too!

Onwards and upwards sweetie!

Thank you Lady Floss, I'm liking your new photo! Are you rock climbing??

Well.. I decided to put a pikkie up; I want husband to take a shot of me running, (I tried to do a selfie whilst running in Lady Margaret's Park, whilst on hols this last week... disaster! Just got the top of my head!!!)

So... I put this one up, , taken last year whilst scrambling, bouldering and doing a couple of simple routes on Stanage Edge. Son in law in charge :)

Hard to believe I know, but I did a lot of rock climbing in the past, with husband... :)

Going to get him to take some pikkies of me running soon!

Ha, you have to keep up appearances, don't you! Can't let them see you suffering! Glad you managed to get your rhythm back after your encounter though.

Well done Pam, I knew you could do it 😄 Don't worth about run 3 the only difference is its no stopping but helps you get in a better rhythm with the longer run.

in reply toButchdingle

It's the no stopping that's troubling me Butch!!

On the plus side, I'm going to use my own music for a solid 20 minute run so no more "I'm the one and only, I'm the king bay-be, I get the finest girls, I've been around the world".

20 minutes is an achievement though...we're almost proper runners :o)

I thought the same about the 20 mins but I am sure you will be fine.Yes whilst I haven't had the privilege of Laura's music having your own music definitely helps I did an 18 minute play list so that when the music repeated I knee I only had a couple of minutes to go max.

Great stuff! I like the fact that you seem always so positive about the runs. You are two runs ahead of me so it's good to hear that things seem manageable, even if the going gets tough 😏

in reply toCeltprof

Thank you, I distract myself during the runs thinking about what to post....plus, coffee helps with the manageability ;o)

I love the bit about speeding up to impress your husband! Think we all do that. Excellent bird recognition skills too. I used to tell my daughter, oh that's a sparrow when she asked, if it was a small bird. Then she said one time, all the birds we see are sparrows. How many different kinds of sparrows are there?

in reply toboptillyoudrop49

That's funny, you didn't fool her for long! Thank you, but I don't know about my excellent bird recognition skills, I first mistook it for a budgie!!
