Wk2 Run2 - it was ok!

Up and out early for my 5th run and what a gorgeous morning it is! Run went well, each 90 minute run seemed to get easier, but my face seems to be getting redder and redder with each run!! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I'm starting a new job today.... late shift till 9pm. My next run is due Thursday, and I won't manage an early run that day as I have to leave home at 6.15am... so it'll be my first afternoon / after work run.... ummmm that'll be interesting as I think I'll just be knackered! Not sure how shifts will fit in with running schedule but I really want to make this work.

Any how enough waffle... happy running folks πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I was like you, switched from early morning runs to afternoons when I started back at work, and was a bit concerned. I get energy from my runs, I find, and they are perfect to help me wind down after work. Hope you find the same.

That sounds encouraging thanks! I like the idea of it being a wind down after work! I'm thinking of taking run stuff to work and running before I do school pick up 4.30... I should just about have time to squeeze it in....I hope I have energy and motivation to do it πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I was very surprised to find I was looking forward to it. It wasn't a matter of thinking "Here comes another chore, can I get out of it," but rather "Look! I can finally do this fun thing!" That's why I don't worry so much about finding time now, it's a thing I like and if I get the chance I'll do it.

Brilliant! It's wonderful when you start to feel improvements, isn't it? Good for you for getting out there. I prefer morning running, but I think evening running has it's benefits - like your body is totally warmed up. Also, running is great stress relief, so if you've had a heavy day, there is nothing like a run to loosen up and clear the mind! Good luck in your new job, and keep running...😘

Thanks that sounds great... apart from wanting to get fit and lose weight, one of the other reasons for starting this program was for stress relief... so far I'm finding I do get a real buzz after each run, so I'm hoping that continues! Thanks again πŸ‘

It does continue! I am almost at the end of wk3 and still buzzing. 🐝 Funny, just 5 mins ago I was reflecting on how calm I have been feeling. I have a fairly stressful job and my managers are behaving, well, I'll be polite here, in a less than desirable way at the moment (unreasonable demands etc). Yet I feel totally calm. Normally I would react with anger / tears / panic resulting in feeling exhausted and a flare up of IBS. But I feel calm. Sharper. Balanced. This must be a result of the running! Bonus side effect. πŸ˜€ I daydream about my next run and all is good in my world!

Just off to work now.... feeling very nervous!!!! But have felt calm most of the morning whilst waiting to go! Feel like I need to run right now... in the opposite direction lol πŸ˜„.

Ho ho ho! Am sure it will all go fine (though understand starting a new job can be a bit scary). I have an interview on Friday that I am totally avoiding thinking about! Hope all goes well on your first day, Buddie!
