Well with all the great encouragement from you lovely folks, I've managed my first week. I was a little bit drowned and a lot sweaty at the end of today's run, but it was worth it.
Things to take away from today:
1. After being at work all day with a long commute, running seems harder, certainly the first few minutes.
2. No matter how much it rains, don't bother with a coat, it's just too warm.
3. Must get some new headphones which actually stay in my ears!
4. That post-run shower feels good!!
Thanks all for your encouragement so far. You are all wonderful
Neil

Neil well done on doing the hardest week. Kicking the couch is the best thing you can do.
1 - yup it does, but it does help you unwind once you're used to it
2 - yup agreed, I wore pink plastic bag on Sunday, omg I looked like a ready made turkey roast
3 - yup I spent silly money on ones that hook , but worth every penny
4 - yup, the hotter and longer the better
You forgot 5 - the halo of achievement glows a long while after the run.....
Oh and 6 - telling your C25K buddies about it....
Other than that perfect start. Happy running in W2
Great stuff! Also, just a warning, you might start looking for all sorts of bits and pieces as well as the headphones ... I window shop for "running stuff" rather too much these days >_< (but for the rain a free baseball cap from some computer games company is all that's required for me)
