Continuing after a little break

Hi. I've been in Disneyland Paris for the last 5 days so haven't done my runs. My next one is Week 6 Run 2 so I did start the longer runs before I went. Whilst away I walked about 20000 steps every day! Do you think I'll be able to go straight to my next run or will my stamina have slipped? Thanks 😊a

You should be okay after 5 days, give it a go and if it's a problem put it down as a practice run. Just go maybe a bit slower than last time, so you're not using your stamina up so quickly. Hope it's a good one - happy running

We don't lose fitness that quickly, luckily.

Start where you left off, and take it wonderfully slowly and gently.. relaxing into the longer runs, and as each light step touches the floor, you can think of your wonderful holiday!

Just think of it as having had extra restorative rest days, and I'm sure that by taking it gently you will manage your next run fine. Good luck.

You'll be fine to pick it up where you left off. I 'missed' a run this week and yesterday I ran further and faster than the same run I did earlier in the week so it shows that sometimes a rest can do you good.

Thanks everyone. My legs seized up a bit yesterday following all the walking in Disney so still not managed the run yet... It's my daughters birthday today so hopefully tomorrow!

I'm sure you'll be fine...I know what it's like walking round Disneyland!!!! You haven't been sat around for the last 5 days have you so you're stamina will still be up there!!!! Like JCR says, you can always put it down as a practice run..good luck!!
