Having finally got round to visiting my local Runners Need store for gait analysis, I started trying on running shoes. Tried various shoes of different makes, each one tried out on the treadmill and videoed too check whether it was helping me remain neutral (one leg is neutral and the other is only slightly off), I ended up with these (ironically the first ones I tried on!!) - Saucony Ride 9 - and the only ones I tried that were in the sale too π
Not run in them yet, but have been walking round the house this morning wearing them. Need to play with the lacing up a bit and then, the guy in the store suggested I try a full run on a treadmill as they will take shoes back providing they haven't been outside. I don't have a treadmill and don't belong to a gym, so I'm investigating free or cheap day passes!! Fingers crossed I can do this and they are fine π€(He also said it was a shame they didn't match my running tights - but that it just an excuse to buy a new pair, isn't it?! )
On other news - I have decided to go back to the structure of the program and did week 5 run 1 today ( as I know I can run at least 10 minutes, so back tracked to 3 x 5 minutes) - felt good so will carry on from here πββοΈ
P.s. am doing my second Parkrun this Saturday, but have volunteered as tail walker. The plan being that next time I can do it, I will be able to run much more of it than last time π
