Post graduation run

So today I aimed to complete another 30 minute run after a few days off.

I am away from my home and the gym at the moment visiting my family. This meant I had to run outside and unfortunately the weather was against me this morning!

I still managed a rather quick 15 minutes before I had to admit defeat, I even managed to drag my 8 year old sister out for a quick 5 minute run.

I will attempt to run again later if the rain lets up a bit :) I must admit it was quite refreshing to start with but I don't know how people manage long distances in the rain!

Xx

You did well to go out in it! I also ran 30 mins in pouring rain this morning, first rain run in at least two months. It was so refreshing and soooooo quiet.

My first 10k event was in March, in an absolute downpour! The organisers gave every finisher an additional 20% off the early bird price for their next event......I think they were astounded folk ran in it. Once you are wet, you are wet! No problem!

It was so peaceful in the Midlands, makes such a huge change from London! The only things out this morning were a few slugs!

That was great of them to do that. I'm always impressed with people who run whatever the weather!

I'm slowly increasing my outdoor runs but I definitely struggle more with motivation outside! Too many distractions, I can just zone out on the treadmill.

Just keep going, do a little of each to suit yourself. My daughter lives in London, we run together there when we visit.... really hard to find nice routes but where you feel safe. Have you thought about Parkrun, there are loads around London!

Im in the Midlands..... always a green space to be found! Enjoy🏃🏻‍♀️

It is really lovely up here, not used to the hills though!

I have signed up for Parkrun but I'm going to build up my outdoor runs first! I will be dragging my partner with me too although he will finish way ahead of me :)

... ah, but the longer you spend outside.. it gets better.. like what is round that corner, or where does that track lead or... I wonder if they have cut the crops back.. you just keep going!

Well done you! Good to be outside even for a quickie..and to get small sibling out too!

Brilliant :)

I was out there this morning... it was very wet.. I did a long and soggy run! Been so long on the IC and doing recovery run/walks that I needed my fields again! :)
