Ouch! : Ok wk 2 run 2 done...just about!! Legs... - Couch to 5K
Ouch!
Very well done. I'm no expert but if your legs are just tired but not painful, then I think that's normal. Nice bath and rest sounds good and maybe some stretches on your rest day tomorrow? I do a bit of yoga which I find helps. You are building stamina now - so keep it up.
Yeah think they are just in shock!! π€£π how will I ever do longer?!?
The programme really works. I am amazed at the end of each week and I've just finished week 6. Take it slow and steady and you will get there.
I really hope so!! Just not sure what speed should be going all say slowly slowly but could do with someone to pace me!! Cos a slug took the lead tonight! π€£π€£
Ha well the snails were waiting for me to catch up today. I'm still no faster than I was at the start but I am 'running' for much longer - no walking breaks now. As others will tell you, you can concentrate on speed when you graduate. Don't worry if your pace is no faster than a brisk walk, I still have walkers pass me. π
Agree with bareliz. Well done for not stopping though. That grit helps....π
Both, the stretching definitely helps me and the bath as long as not too hot is lovely for winding down. Well done you.
Well done on your run. The first few weeks are tough, especially until you get into a proper routine. I know lots of people on here use the 'strength and flex' podcasts on rest days: nhs.uk/Livewell/strength-an...
I do these when I finish my cool down each session instead:
Stretching is essential and before your run, warm those legs up really well... Well done you
Well done! I'm a long way from being a competent or efficient runner by any stretch of the imagination - FAR from it - but I don't ever want to go back to those early days! Tired is good - stretches and rest. Bit of a swim tomorrow? I find a spinning class really stretches out the legs the day after a run.
