So, just home from Run 1 of Week 4. Blimey, that was tough.
I hadn't looked at what was involved but through the posts on here I knew there was a 5 minute run chucked in there somewhere. Now I've done the run I'm really glad I didn't look at the whole thing before I left. I'd have been really demotivated and convinced myself I wouldn't have been able to do it. At the risk of sounding like DelBoy it really does come down to Positive Mental Attitude.
There is a great sense of achievement when completing the first run of a new week and I'm under no illusion I'll be able to crack it on every new week but I hope to enjoy trying. As soon as it becomes a chore then I know I've lost one of my big motivators.
Anyway, I digress. My playlist played a huge part in being able to complete today's run. And in true Oscar style, I'd like to thank Michael Jackson, Simple Minds, Fleetwood Mac and Roxette. (I make no apologies for my taste in music!!) You've all been great and I couldn't have done today without you. <cue crying and kissing the air >

what about your mother, father and manager lol ---- well done you -- this time next year we'll all be runners
Oh snack shack - the cheese factor has been outed... there was me trying to have festival chic with Cabron by the Chillis but cheese beats chilli every time. Love it you'll keep going there's a whole world of cheese out there to support you.🧀🧀🧀🥖🥖🥖🥖🥖
Festival chic is for in the car when the windows are down and is solely for appearances but when those windows go back up its just me and the cheese (metaphorically, obviously. Taken out of context that sentence can be a reputation killer!)
Stick with the chilli peppers - don't drag yourself down to my level - you're way cooler.
I'm going to spare myself the embarrassment and just confess to sometimes listening to 'Now Running' on Spotify... I do love making random playlists, amazing how good they seem on a Friday when having a few quiet gins... Not sure how I managed to get Devil Went down to Georgia next to Rag'n'Boneman and Neil Diamond 😂
You have got it....! Don't peek ahead... just trust the programme, have faith in yourself and slow and steady, just do it!
The pesky mind gremlins jump at any chance to get into your head, your legs wherever, to try and upend you... do not give them that chance! You are not going to lose motivation... ( we won't let you)!
As for your choice in music, well if I tell you that, Thank You for the Music, is my, get me through any run choice... to the words I made up... you will know what my tastes are!
