So the 25 minute run of wk 6 was ok. I never enjoy them (but live in hope!!!) but that one was almost bearable. Yesterday was awful, I did my 25 minutes but it was super hard and I actually cried (bit pathetic as I'm nearly 50!) when I finished! Next run tomorrow.. not sure what to think ....π© but I'm going to get up early to avoid the heat and do it. This running/shuffling thing won't beat me π
Wk 7 run 2.... hopefully better than the last ... - Couch to 5K
Wk 7 run 2.... hopefully better than the last one!
Make sure you don't go too fast. I really struggled with that towards the end of the programme.
In terms of enjoying them I found the longer runs really boring until I got out of the park and into the woods. Running different routes and making decisions about which way to run as I go was the only thing that made it interesting. So you might want to try mixing up the routes a bit.
It won't beat you though. You are nearly there.
The humidity and the heat is horrible at the moment. I had to run about midday yesterday and nearly gave up. Imanaged to hobble to the end of 5k but in a foul mood. Remember at this stage your only requirement is time ... not speed or distance so just run as slowly as feels comfortable.
I live in France and it's super hot. But I never thought I'd get up early to go running/shuffling/crying !!!
Hey super hot makes it super hard to do this. And you were crying for a reason. I cry at music - now that is pathetic. Have you tried putting your water bottle in the freezer, as a cooler? Or my new trick which was borrowed from a week one tip, is to wet my hair and then I add on conditioner, so bonus is your head feels cool, but you're doing your hair a favour at the same time. Downside you look like Boycie from Only Fools and Horses.... take care in the heat and good luck next time out
You are doing great, especially if you don't enjoy the running. That takes grit, so be proud of your accomplishment, and take the next run nice and easy. Slow is good.
Well done you ππ crying is OK, I had a few tears when I ran for just 5 mins π keep going πππ
The first two runs of week 7 reduced me to tears too but seriously, I took the advice given to me on here and slowed my pace and it was fine.
I did run 1 of week 8 today and ran (slowly! 7.3km/hr) for 28 minutes and enjoyed it! Nothing short of miraculous as I had the capacity of an asthmatic ant 8 weeks ago!
Trust the programme. Listen to your body. Keep the faith. Good luck - you've got this!
