Wk4r2 failure 😩Tmi- warning

Absolutely gutted. So after getting up on the first day of my holiday, putting on my running stuff on and setting off......i failed. It's was all going so well, slow but well. I smashed the 3 minutes, did the 5, slowly did the next 3 then bam 2 minutes into the 5 I had to stop due to the overwhelming need for a poo. I walked the rest and used the (thankfully cleaned) beached toilets. I honestly could not have continued. I will redo this run on Saturday with the hope that this doesn't happen again 🤔

Admire your honesty!! That's not a fail at all - when you gotta go, you gotta go. 😃

Did you go before your run?

Many runners try to get their pipes moving before running. Personally i never run unless i have visited the bathroom before I go, particularly for longer runs. Take a look at the link

You did well to get out there, not at all a failure! Put it down to a new (loo) experience 😃👍🏼

Lots of us encounter this problem (especially early in the programme). Even, infamously, Paula Radcliffe who didn't have a loo to use but people had cameras....

Rite of passage, hahahaha!

You only fail if you abandon the programme and go back to the couch.

Not a failure, merely a loo break....

That's not a fail. When did you last get up to go for a run whilst on holiday!!. It wasn't even the effort of running got to you. Next time will be fine.

I feel your pain, this happened to me last year, in W3. I actually gave up because of it, so concerned was I that it would happen again. There were no toilets nearby and only just made it home. Fast forward to this year, I tried again, graduated and run 5k pretty much 3 times a week. I always visit the loo before I go, plus I have found that when you are running non stop, the need if it comes on can be ignored. So, don't let it put you off, laugh about it and carry on regardless. 😀

Sorry you couldn't complete your run as nature called. but quite a funny read. I was trying to work out what injury Tmi- could be..then read the post and it all became clear😄..

Well done for holiday running..and good luck next time out..

Not a fail either.x

This just happened to me yesterday and I was just walking! I barely made it home in time. I am normally very regular and within a half an hour of waking up can go to the bathroom, yesterday no go, so today, when I didn't go again, I ran around my block for my entire run...just in case...

You know the first rule of the Fight Club, we do NOT use the F word in here ;)

And no, it wasn't a failure. Failure would be not going out, or leaving the programme. You just had a loo break, and it is all fine to repeat the run for any kind of reason ;)

So don't worry and go get them tiger!

I will not leave the house for a run unless Regular Daily Health has occurred :D (that's what my teacher used to call it manymany years ago in our Personal Health class :) )

Well done - you were out there and you ran. Okay, it was shorter than you planned, but never mind, you'll have another go and you will be fine.

Not what you're looking for?
