hit the ripe old age of 44 last week and had some money left over from various people so i thought why not get some more running kit (wierd thought by me lol) went to the nike discount store and got a great running top and a new pair of running shorts. i know there are cheaper alternatives but i like the feel and the material that is used, however i digress slightly... my issue is this and again it is a body confidence thing, the top is great no issues however when i run i usually have knee length shorts and pair this up with 3/4 running leggings if the weather is dodgy... the new shorts whilst they looked long actually come above the knee (how racy of me) ... I suppose i should have tried them on in the store to be honest ... i wore them last night and they are great but i felt self conscience in them even though they are actually much cooler to run in ... am i alone in this?

Not alone, but you will get over it very quickly... :)

As the runs get longer your strength builds, your stamina increases and your confidence grow!!! ( Your bank balance gets less!)

I love all my gear, all got a sale price...:)

I started as a grey snail, but quickly developed into a funky runner!!! the brighter the better! Just check this out.. you don't have to read my post, but look at the gear.. that is my very favourite outfit!!!

I am 67 and I don't mind who stares.. and if I get a peep from a white van man i feel flattered! ( obviously my cap hides how old I am ! )

You are out there, doing it... getting fitter and healthier and stronger.. off the couch and out that door! GO YOU!

I started running in March and was getting too hot in leggings so have been running in shorts ever since so now I have reasonably tanned legs. I found that even when it was cooler I preferred having my legs out - two or three layers on my top half was sufficient.

I've done the same - gone from 3/4 legging to shorter cycle short type - and I have not got slim thighs! But its so much cooler!
