NEARLY gave up!

Just completed W8R3 and feel completely wiped out. On a visit to my sister I foolishly invited her to join me for a 'run'. She hasn't run for over a year but is 4 years younger, 4 times fitter & probably 4 stone lighter than me 😟. I made it clear that hills were out & she assured me it was flat 'nearly all the way' Ha! It was a Beautiful evening and we made our way through the park surrounding Newton House, cows munching, fields of golden hay, a light breeze, blue sky. Did I notice any of this? Did I heck. Too busy puffing, panting and doing ridiculous 'baby step running' up the numerous hills (she calls them inclines!) She was supportive & encouraging & kept on about how wonderful it was to be able to run - I could only grunt & puff in response. She wants to do it again tomorrow. Fat chance. I'll be going home, sticking my headphones on & 'running' to music & the dulcet tones of Sarah Millican on lovely, lovely flat roads for my final week of C25K. Wish me luck!

Good luck!

I can't run with any of my friends as they are all quite experienced and as for 'inclines' - the slightest hint of a slope sends me into a panic.

Benefits of living by the sea - it's very flat!

Thank you! I think I'll stick to running on my own - so can huff & puff along slowly without worrying about anyone else. I ❤️ flat roads!

Ditto ... totally with you on that.

It's hard enough breathing I couldn't possibly chat!

Happy running!

Keep going, stick with Sarah and follow your own rhythm, that's what makes it work out... best of luck next time

Well done and bonus points too! Younger sisters, inclines and a new route!

Slow and steady is the way...! Try some strength and flex today, and then when you head home... you will be ready for your final week!!! ( On the flat!)

Thanks Oldfloss - good advice which I will take. Have a horrible feeling she's expecting us to go on a bike ride today!😏
