Up a notch to week 4

Ooh Laura means business doesn't she with the meaty week 4 (daren't even look at week 5!) so you go from running 8 minutes to 16 minutes in total. Well I did it and am feeling chuffed! 😊 The first 3 minute run started at the bottom of a hill unfortunately and I felt like my lungs might burst even though I felt like I was running on the spot and a cat walked past me with it's nose in the air 😜. Even so when it came to the 5 minute run I had a flat bit of ground and I got into my stride.still can't believe I ran for 5 minutes all at once!

Happy running everyone on this lovely sunny day. X

My cats have a way of showing me their backsides at the most opportune moments - it's like 'Look at my arse. It's splendid isn't it. Just splendid. In fact I am going to come past again with it just in case you missed its magnificence the first time!'

As for speed, I have had tumbleweed go past me. Spiders have built webs between my knees, whilst I'm running. But - distances.......this morning, I ran week 1 run 2 with my son (I am getting him into the programme poor devil) then went on and ran my W7R3.

Speed will never be my thing but the distances this programme helps you to go is brilliant. Good luck with week 4, just like all the other weeks, you will get through and then you are near half-way to graduation. Aaargh!

Phew that sounds exhausting! But good that you got your son roped in. That cat definitely had a superior look on it's face as if to say 'you call that running? I can walk faster than you! ' yes speed will come later I'm sure if at all! Good luck to you too.

That's fantastic! No worries, you will be ready for week 5 before you know it!

Hi farawaytree74!

Well done you! I survived it too last wednesday but have had a break since then because of a recurrent sore calf.

I am planning to repeat W4 R1 on monday!

Let's keep going!!!

Hi Lucy,

Hope your calf heals up quickly but you are doing the right thing by resting. Good luck with week 4. I am certainly feeling more achey today post-run than I have done on previous runs. I guess it's because the running element increases on week 4 - it feels like it's getting more serious now -gulp- 😅
