Woo hoo, I've only gone and done it! Absolutely buzzing now. I've reached my first major milestone as a runner. Yep, I'll call myself a runner now I've completed the C24k programme, although I'm aware this is really only the beginning.
Of course, knowing today was my graduation run and, spurred on by words of encouragement from this forum, I left the house feeling positive. My 5 minute warm up is the time it takes me to walk to my local park. Just as Jo instructs me to begin running I turn the corner onto the field and am delighted to see newly mown grass. Yippee (I say), my last run was challenging not least because of the length of the grass (I'm vertically challenged and a few inches makes a difference!). I knew then it was going to be a good run.
So what next? I'm going to treat myself to some 'proper' running clothes, and endeavour to keep running 3 times a week. I would like to try a parkrun and maybe a Race for Life, but most of all just to carry on and not become a couch potato again!
Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement and inspiring posts. Keep going, because if you haven't graduated already then you've got a fantastic feeling and sense of achievement to come. Yes you can do it.
Now, where's that graduation badge (whistles off into the sunset).... π.
