Well, 30 minutes x 1 in the bag. The run itself was fine, I seem to be able to run 30 minutes without a problem, if I didn’t have a right leg that was playing me up something chronic. I have looked through the community’s posts and it appears to be very similar to ‘Runners Bum’. So, I’m going to have delay graduation 🤬 and rest it and stretch it and pummel it with a lumpy roller. It doesn’t surprise me too much as I’ve had back problems in the past so a bit of weakness in those supporting muscles was likely. I’m going to aim for Run 2 on Friday but I’ll see how it goes. A bit annoyed but at least today’s run confirmed to me that I can run for 30 minutes and that I really do prefer the outside to the treadmill, even if I have to get up at stupidly early hours in the morning during the week to have time to do it!
Week 9 Run 1 - Oh bum!: Well, 30 minutes x 1 in... - Couch to 5K
Week 9 Run 1 - Oh bum!
Do plenty of strength exercises, especially for your core, while you are resting from running.
You will soon be back to a triumphant graduation.
Well done on 30 minutes! I ended up having three days rest between r1 & r2 and probably better off for it. Due to do r3 and graduate today but might delay until tomorrow as I can run in the morning then rather than evening will see how I feel. I have been getting a little lower back pain but straightening up trying to pull in my previously non existent core is sorting it out whilst running - lots of good advice about listening to your body on the forum from experienced runners and my body is finally found its voice 😂😂 so I’m listening! Hope you’re feeling good soon, see you at graduation 😁
Thanks awaw yes, there’s some brilliant advice and experience to learn from on this forum. I wouldn’t have known about this condition without it I don’t think because I could just search the symptoms so easily. Good luck with your graduation run, save a space for me on that podium 😀🤗🏃♀️
Well done on running for 30 mins!
You are doing very well!
All the best for your next run hopefully on Friday!
