Just completed W2R2 and my thighs are so painful. I have done the stretches and am now in a hot bubble bath. Please any ππΌββοΈ runners on this program have you experienced this?
W2R2 raging thighs!!! : Just completed W2R2 and... - Couch to 5K
W2R2 raging thighs!!!
It will get easier the more your thighs get used to running, my old lady hobbles were a regular thing over my first few weeks. You need to keep moving so that you don't cease up, and remember, the long term affect of the pain is better looking thighs!! (I can hope anyway)
It's not a hot bath but a cold shower that would most help by reducing the inflammation that is causing the pain. Perhaps a cold shower after the hot bath?
I do hope you soon recover. Good luck.
Aw thanks seem ok now - even walked the dog this afternoon as well ! π over 10,000 steps on my Fitbit so hit my daily target π―
Congratulations! Remember to walk tomorrow as well and at least do some stretches.
Was it muscle soreness type of pain? If yes, it just means that you have weak muscles and you are in process of getting them stronger You can also do some strength exercises on the rest day to help, e.g. squads or lounges. Just remember not to overdo it, as muscles needs time to regenerate
Awe I'm sure you will do fine keep moving like you said about doing your 10.000 step that alone is very impressive π
Yes, 10,000 steps is impressive! Be proud of it!
Currently, I'm hitting such daily goal only on runningβ days.
Please remember about proper nutrition. As you're exercising, your muscles need a lot of protein to help the regenerate, build, and get stronger.
Also magnesium, potassium, and calcium are important for your muscles and nervous system that controls them of course, those are just 3 major elements, and you need a lot more.
Just keep your diet colourful and make it vary, break any monothony that may be in yoir kitchen and increase lean protein intake.
Good luck!
I just finished the same run (W2R2). For me the previous one was harder, as I couldn't peace myself.
Hello there.... I buy Epsom salts on the internet to put in the bath......marvellous for sore muscles.π
