Any suggestions for cold thighs?

When i run i get cold thighs from wind chil or something. I wear running tights at the moment and i have tried some of my old track suit bottoms but still had the same problem.

I was thinking of wearing some cycling shorts underneath. Or can you suggest something else?

Thanks

Compression leggings ( you can get full length or knee length) work really well at keeping you warm.

I wore my new compression shorts for the first time today and they felt comfortably warm. It was 0C and I wore these under my 3/4 length running tights and was warm without being too hot. I bought these from Aldi in a set with a compression vest (singlet) and they probably are not available now. I thought that I'd probably feel to hot around my hips/waist with two layers, but these have a thin mesh for the top few cms so this wasn't a problem.

I wore a pair of long johns yesterday (that I already owned) under my running tights and felt nicely warm and didn't over heat.

I wear my summer knee-length shorts over the top of my full length running tights and it helps.

I bought one of the Aldi compression tops about 4 weeks ago (pink/purple) I love it, and wore it today with one of their running jackets over the top. I was thinking of getting some Nike thermal running tights as my legs are feeling the cold.

Compression shorts are great. Keep the muscles warm and supported - also got the cheap set from Aldi and they are excellent.

I looked at the thermal running tights but they were too expensive for me so I bought thermal underwear from George at Asda (£16 total for long sleeved top and long johns) and wear that underneath and it's great - you just need to tuck the long johns into your socks before you try to pull on your running tights!

I got some compression shorts, unfortunately couldn't get the Aldi ones, after lots of positive comments on here. It was mainly for a muscle issue but have to say they are keeping me nice and warm these cold days.

Hi, I've got some Karrimor X-Lite wind proof running tights from Sports Direct. They've got insulated panels round the bum & thighs! I thought I'd get really hot & sweaty in them but they are very comfy. They come up nice & high at the waist & have a handy little pocket in the back. Only £14.99 too.

Lidl have thermal tight for under ski wear for just £8.99. They seem good too although not tried them in anger yet!

wow great response guys thanks will keep an eye open for some compression shorts!

Tried an extra pair of shorts underneath and it seems to work, thanks all!

One piece of advice is NOT to wear cycling shorts to run in. The chamois (padded bit) is most definately not condusive to comfort when running...and, yes, I DO speak from personal experience!!! Ouch
