Oldfloss , I'm reporting: your order has been exectuded ;)

Slow and steady it was.

Run completed with my dog 🐕. I couldn't resist those big brown eyes. As she was tired after walk and playing fetch, she behaved suprisingly good. Thus, I enjoyed the run regardless showers that cought us.

It's great running with your pup eh? Lots of fun ahead of you two!

I'm slowly training her to run with me, as she is not very good on leash. I have no proper place near home to run with her off the lead.

She sniffes around, pulls and stops suddenly a lot. Last week, I introduced new 'special' green short, rope-like leash. I use it only for training and running.

I never take mine off lead when we're out. Just too many things to go wrong if she decided to run into the woods without me (alligators, bears, coyotes, vipers, etc...). Your partner will improve with time and training!

Where do you live? It sounds really dangerous.

I used to hike with her a lot, most of the time off lead. Only in places where are people I need to keep her on lead, as she happily great most people by jumping on them. She almost never jump on me or my partner, though.

Our distractions are mainly humans, cats (the first enemy), some animals she likes to chase but remain harmless. Around horses and cows always near me on short lead for her protection.

Deep South, U.S. I wouldn't say dangerous really, just... rural. Your pup sounds very friendly!

She is :) her main weapon is to lick to death :)

She is already 5yo, an amstaff mix rescue lady. Love of my life.

Scary place you live in!

It's a great idea to keep a special lead for a specific purpose like running, but please. Please. PLEASE do not run your dog on a lead with no elastic between you and it. It can harm their neck. Not to mention your own neck/back/arm if they suddenly lunge after something mid run.

Flat collar plus a bungee type lead is fine, but even better is a harness plus a bungee lead.

Nah, I'd say any city is scarier with all the bad traffic. It's all a matter of perspective.

I live in what I guess you Americans would call a suburb... with the countryside right on my door step.

I live in kind of suburbs. It is very big village next to the city. I have only some green area close to my home, not enough in my point of view. But it is sooo much better than living in the city :)

If our runs go well for some time, I'll buy the bungee type of lead. I struggle with consistency and I don't want to spend money on something that will end up in closet after a month, because I'd just quit running with her.

I am totally impressed, but even more delighted that you enjoyed your run and that, in spite of the showers too! Wow!

Such fun with your pup too..have you read any of Maddee_6333 's post.. all about her running adventures with her dogs? They are wonderful...although she has hurt her toe just at the moment!!!

Carry on, just as you are doing! Wonderful x

I will search for her posts. I think I've read couple of them. Not sure, if we're talking about the same person though.

I was suprised that I enjoyed it. It didn't happen for a long time. Very nice feeling :)

I'll try to post my runs to keep myself motivated and accountable.

Dogs are great running buddies. And doing C25K with them is an excellent idea.

I will see how it will go for her and for me. It is just a first week.
