W6R1 Done but boy was it difficult!

I know I was warned but I had no idea how difficult today's run would be. It's the 8 mins in the middle I found troublesome, it was as though last week's 20 minute run never happened and I was back in week 3 struggling with a 3 minute run. I kept slowing my pace to the extent that I was overtaken by a couple of sloths towards the end. The 2 5 minute runs either side were child's play in comparison.

But it's been done and I'm one step closer to completing this although definitely apprehensive about R2 on Wednesday.

This week plays mind games with you. If you factor in the walks with the runs - you have done 18 mins running along with 6 mins walking - You have gone 24 mins non-stop.

The intervals look easy this week compared to the longer runs, but you are going further than before.

It will all be worth it come W6R3.

I know what you mean about mind games, I had to keep telling myself over and over that I could do this as Greta gremlin was being very unhelpful!

I never had any gremlins until week 6. They still like to join me for the start of each run, but bless 'em they can't keep up the pace for more than a few minutes - so you'll soon leave them behind breathless by the side of the road as you stride determinedly on

Well done! I'm a bit worried to hear how hard people are finding Week 6 though - I did W5R3 this morning and that was tough. It was the first time that I really started to feel it in my legs - so far its been keeping my breathing going that has been the problem - but I kept at it. My legs still feel a bit wobbly nearly 2 hours later though.

Well done for W5! I was ok with week 6 so I guess we're all different. The programme knows what's what so although it will be hard, it is possible

Don't be worried, you can do it and we're all behind you 100 percent! I'm sorry if I put you off. My issue was mainly mind games, so make sure you go through to week 6 with a positive attitude and you'll do great!

Let me know how you get on

You did it though! The pleasure for overcoming these struggles is enormous

W6R1 done

After the 20 minute run of W5R3, it does seem like a step down. But I enjoyed W6R1 :-)
