Yay! Off you go then. Steady, mind! 🙂
pure grit... well done you.... go carefully tho....
Sorry to read about your injury but glad you got it checked out with the doc. Go for that final run when the time is right for you - you'll manage it and can always visualise that delicious cake if you start to flag!!
Hi Slinky M, l'm normally quiet in person, this running forum has opened my conversational skills especially as this gets our butts off the couch to run to distances that all of us thought would be unattainable. When l have injury's like this,it makes me reflective.l wanted to run as think this is the best way to raise money for my wife's charity; my injuries are minor to what she endures every day.Anyway my excitement to reach my first running goal,l must hold back and approach W9 r3 of taking it slow, not to rush and cause another injury.l have caught the running bug, looking forward to many years of my legs pushing me ever forward and heart pumping away; l often think of it as a kind of meditation.l love it.Thankyou for your concerns, your advice keeps me on the straight and narrow to better running.Stevy.
I know how you feel. Running is definitely a kind of meditation for me & every time I run I think of what my mum had to endure over the last few years descending into Alzheimer's. It keeps me going but sometimes i should take my own advice & ease up a bit as i have had a bit of knee pain on the last couple of runs. I'm sure your wife & family are proud of you & it is fantastic that you can do something positive to help your wife's charity. Looking forward to your graduation post!😊
Thankyou SlinkyM, Sorry to hear about your mother,my mum is showing signs of it also. Also my wife and family are very much behind me.l am going to see how things are,as the doc asked me other symptoms l may have develope over the coming week; one is tiredness, falling asleep at the drop of a hat; which has happened.lts funny how our bodies find ways of repairing itself.Be careful with your knee...l will certainly be sharing my joy 😂 of the last run,Thanks again.Stevy.
Good luck with your graduation run Stevy. Enjoy that feeling😊
Hope your leg is feeling better.
No hurry if you're not fit yet..😊x
