Not been able to run today

I woke up Saturday morning with like sciatic pain in my left side of my lower back, I'm pretty good with coping with pain but this was another thing.

I could stand straight up without working up to it, nor could I walk without pain. Sitting was a exceedingly painful task too.

it's eased since then, the odd twinge now and then, I should have run this morning but didn't want to risk it with flying out to Egypt on Wednesday.

I'll see what it's like either tomorrow or Wednesday morning and take it from there.

Happy running everyone.

Sorry to hear that LeeU. Might be worth going to the doctor before you go on holiday, maybe they can prescribe something to help ease it or at least manage the pain.

I don't do anything stronger than paracetamol if I can help it, had enough drugs etc when I had virtually back to back chest infections that stopped me running last time I graduated.

OK, just thinking it might be easier getting seen to here than in Egypt. When I had sciatica, anti inflammatory tablets made a big difference.

AHH, I take it you've never been to Egypt? As most people over there cannot afford to see a doctor their pharmacists are highly trained and can sell you just about anything over the counter should you need it.

Mrs LeeU has arthritis and has loads of drugs in the house, from anti-inflams through to heavyweight pain killers.

Hi LeeU, sorry to hear about your problems.😕 Just a word of caution about tablets etc: I’ve seen quite a few TV programmes where people take drugs that are legal here into a foreign country and have awful problems. Might be worth checking that whatever you’re taking is legal in Egypt before taking it with you? Just a thought, don’t want to add to your difficulties! 🙂 Take care of yourself. 👍

Providing you take proof you have been prescribed with the drugs you are normally ok, just don't take more than you'll ever need, like that couple did last year, I believe they took 400 tramadol, a seriously strong opioid.

Sounds like you’re already aware of the issues, so sorry if I sounded like a teacher!😊 My dad was one, so it must be in the genes!🤣

nah, I'd much rather people tell me, even if I already know it, there may have been something change that I'm not aware off.

Oh no. Feel for you LeeU. Hope you’re feeling back to normal soon. Sciatica really is awful. Rest up and hope you enjoy Egypt
