W2R1 nailed!

Feeling really good managing to complete W2R1. A week ago I couldnt run for 30 seconds at a time without struggling so have really surprised myself in how far I've come in only 4 runs.

I'm slow but I'm not stopping! I did however get a stitch this time which I haven't had before. Any ideas how to prevent this or what to do if it happens again?

Slow is marvellous... keep it slow and keep it steady! That is the way to get to the Graduation podium :)

Really slow down when the stitch hits.. there will be lots of tips on this... deep breath and long slow exhale... worked for me, the only time I ever had stitch in two and a half years :)

Keep posting too, it is great to see how folk are doing and compare notes :)

Yay congrats on getting this far, you'll only keep getting better and better and your improvement will amaze you!! I struggled with stitches too, and regulating your breathing should definitely help with that. Also make sure you're practicing good form. Keep that upper body steady, make sure you have good posture.

For me, breathing really made a difference. The longer the jogging intervals got, the worse my stitches got. At the beginning of each jog, I count: breathe in for 3 strides, breathe out for 3 strides, then try to maintain that for the rest of the jog. It also helps really maintain my focus too. If my breathing is off and I end up getting a stitch in the middle of a jog, I slow my pace down a bit and press down on the area while regulating my breathing again. This has worked for me so far, hope it works for you as well! :)

So good to hear!πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ. I am heading out on my W2R1 tomorrow, hoping I too will find I have improved. At the moment I'm just pleased that I have managed to complete all the runs so far and am not carrying any injuries. One day at a time. Well done on your latest step to successπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Well done! I'm doing my week 2 first run tomorrow & am both excited & a little nervous. I really struggled with the very first run but by runs 2 & 3 I was doing much better. I think I Just went too fast at first so tired myself too soon. Slow & steady seems to be the key! I also did the latter 2 runs with my baby in the jogger buggy so think that helped slow me down & keep my pace. Also good arm exercise & helps keep the weight off the lower joints πŸ˜€
