Week 5, run 1, take 3.

Week 5 Run 1 is proving to be a bit of a hurdle for me.

Attempt 1 - Running felt good, breathing fine, legs fine, nice rhythm. Pulled calf muscle halfway through, had to limp back and sat on IC for 9/10 days.

Attempt 2 - Struggle finding rhythm, not comfortable at all but do the 3 x 5min runs hating most of it, especially damn hills. Put that down to being out of action for over week so decided to give run 1 another go before moving on to run2.

Attempt 3 (this morning) - So tired, achey legs, struggling to catch my breath, had to walk for a few seconds during each one of the 5 min runs really disappointed with myself :-(. Running into head-on wind and feeling awful, just couldn't wait to finish.

Can't decide whether to do it again on Sunday and get these five minute runs comfortable or if I should put it behind me and try to do run 2 even though I'm not sure I actually can do it given my struggle with this run.

I would move onto run 2, run 1 has probably become a mental block as much as anything.  Take it nice and slowly and try to take in your surroundings to distract yourself a little.  Good luck.

I agree. Move on, you've already done it. You don't have to keep going till you perfect each one, especially in weeks 5 and 6 when its a different run every time.

I  love this honest post. WHEN you succeed, you will look back and laugh at your troubles. This is your story.

A few seconds walk in the middle are neither here nor there. You've done this. you gotta move on up now, as Curtis Mayfield sang.

As someone who only did this run last week, I actually found run 2 better than run 1.  You'll ace it 😃

Definitely move on.  The repeat of Laura's terrible music alone should inspire you to try the next session :)
