I can't thank you guys enough for encouraging me to keep going,as did my student rep friends - went out there today, just as sunset was coming cleared the mind of all thoughts, only started to feel the chest in the last 300m,and didn't look at the time until the end - when I did,wow π At 22:45,thats my third quickest 5k Want to tag you amazing guys who kept me going on my last post but you know who you all are - thank you
Hi Mark. Well done on your achievements so farπππΌ
I really dont think that it is realistic for you to expect to improve your times each run, or that you should expect every run to be a perfect run. If you look at posts from others on this site you will note that most accept that a PB is an occasional thing rather than a continuous process.
Why not try to enjoy your running rather than putting significant pressure on yourself from such very high expectations.
As you are a new runner there is probably still a lot for you to learn about running which i am sure will help your running journey more longer term. Why not sometimes simply run for the joy of being a runner?
No Parkrun (well for now, advised not to run it or just walk the inclines),GP wants to rule out heart related issues. Basically the chest deformity means it's harder to hear my heartbeat and with a family history wants to rule out any possibility. A bit spooked but will be okay
