Hi, just checking in from my sofa - did W6R3 this morning (25 mins), which went ok. I now understand the mind over matter thing - I'm slogging along, legs feel like lead, but nothing is really hurting and am breathing ok BUT I WOULD MUCH RATHER JUST STOP - but I don't !!! Basically because I'm stubborn and I don't want to do the previous week again. My legs are now aching & that first climb upstairs is rather painful, however I do feel rather pleased with myself !!
Roll on week 7 !!!

I had hoped to join you but Im skipping run 3 today, I posted about finding week 6 really hard on wednesday and then I woke up this morning shaking and im totally knackered, there is something going on there beyond the gremlins. No idea whats up with me but im taking a long weekend so no running until monday. Week 7 runs are the same as week 6 run 3 so if i manage 3 next week i might just move on to week 8 after that. I really want to graduate on the 16th as its my birthday on the 17th
Well done! She says it because it is true! You are right, it is much more about mental strength in the later stages - I ALWAYS want to stop in the first ten minutes of my run!
Yes its tough when your head is telling you to stop, that's when your mental strength comes to the fore .
You dug deep and did it !
Youre doing great, keep going ! xxx
Well done. I agree with posts above and find it reassuring others find it hard. I am on week 8. The first 5 mins of my run I do not feel I have the energy or motivation. The next 5 mins I have to convince myself To carry on. I have to keep saying do you really want to repeat a run. Once at ten mins I am into the run trying to increase my speed so I can get to 5k in 30 mins. Long way ahead.
Well done you! Ignoring those gremlins who tell you to stop is half the battle and once you've worked out when that is happening it's much easier to tell them where to go! You're getting so close to that 30 minutes now, keep it up!
