Boy has the weather changed here in the uk, an awful lot colder and darker but for some reason I love running on cold crisp days there is something about the air feeling fresher here in london. Happy running you all.
Morning all
I agree, the U.K. Weather has defiantly dipped a few c this week. However I enjoy running in the cold, not quite as keen on the rain though . The dark night are in as well, it's dark here at 5 pm so definite changes this week .
I had a good running week , ran one of the Lakeland trails 10 k s ( patter dale ) on Saturday morning, perfect weather , cold crisp , blue sky, fantastic views , I loved it . I was slow but happy , and I have a lovely navy blue technical t shirt to remind me of the occasion. YEsterday was a rest day which involved all of my children ( adults really but still my children :-). ) arriving home for tea, so lovely . It's rare for us all to make a meal together as most of the family have ended up working in the NHS in one guise or another so all work shifts. It's amazing for us all to be off on a Sunday together .
This morning I am off to sale water park for a run at about 10, so if anyone is about give me a wave , I will be the one in a red hat that clashes with an orange running top , and both clash with the yellow stripe in my running capris , all completed by my pink trainers . On second thoughts I quite understand that nobody would want to wave !!!
Any way happy running everyone. π£π£π£π£π£π£
Sounds fun! Have a great time. I like the sound of the Patterdale 10k. Sounds hill though! Eeek!
Morning RFC. Hope you're well!
Running moderate distances this week (just 20k in total, or should I say last week) Training for a 10k race in December. Going running in a minute actually. A 7k dash is on the plan so I'm off on the trail. The sun is out! It looks quite chilly but at least no high winds
Have fun folks!
Is it a nice run at Sale Water Park? I used to live (and walk my dogs) near there and was just thinking the other day that it might be good for a run.
It's great for running , one of my favourites. I start at deckers car park , along side of lake , along the river to the jacksons boat on the right and back round to the car park, it's about 5 k . If I want to go further I include a loop up to chorlton water park
Do you run on your own there?
It does sound good
Yes , usually a mon morning as I don't work then . I'm happy to meet you some time and show you my route , but I don't run very fast my fastest is a 30 min 5 k but I go a bit slower on a Monday
Thanks guys for the lovely kind wave thoughts
Well I started the week with a Bridge to 10K week 2 run. A lovely morning, cold but bright an sunny (well it was when I went out first thing). It got colder as the day went on, and grey!
Anyway, this was a tough run, about 6.5km, the last 7 minutes were hard work. But I got there.
I think that was a bit much, so soon after the Park Run, and having done a 3 mile walk in the morning followed by a pub lunch, I did an experimental short run on Wednesday. Experimental because I was trying out a new combination of warm clothes, but running 'Naked' for the first time, I ran for 24 minutes, a distance of 3km. It was a good run, not sure if I like running without music and instructions though.
Today, I didn't really want to do Bridge to 10K week 2 again, but I did - after all it is in 15 minute chunks so I don't have to do it all. But it was good and I did it all and it was easier. Strangely though, I ran slower but about the same distance. I am guessing that my pace was just more steady throughout.
And it is a lovely day today with the autumn colours.
