everyone and welcome to, yet another, new running week.

We are all so busy... life can be hectic .... and even more so for us runners!

Fear not, here is a place to take five, and enjoy a chat about our running adventures, trials, tribulations, successes, achievements etc.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up, but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If you're a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi, without the pressure of a full post.

So pull up a chair, slip off the running shoes, and settle down for a little natter:)

Wishing you all a happy , healthy ,running week

I'm struggling with running after graduation. I graduated 4 weeks ago, and have managed to increase to a 35 minute run, but for the past 3 weeks I only run once a week... not nearly my goal of 3 times a week. Any tips on how to keep a more regular running during the week?

Well done for graduating first of all!

I am not a graduate yet so I am not sure I am the best person to give you advice, however I think that if you write it on your diary and cut out some time for it and tell people (as if you had an appointment with someone,) it helps put a bit of pressure on it and set and respect the time you choose. Also, I think after graduation one can automatically feel a bot lazy because we achieve a goal... and that's it, what next? To keep motivated think "i am a runner and run 2/3 times a week" rather than "I am a graduate, I have achieved 35 min." Hope this helps 😊

Great advice there, thank you.

thanks! that's good stuff to change my mind-set... Now, instead on increasing my time, I'll focus on making the 3 times a week as a challenge.

What is the main problem, time or motivation. I used to go out before breakfast just after graduation, I would put my running gear by my bed and get into my running gear as soon as I got up. If it is motivation having an event to train for can help. I know some parents have found it hard during half term and sometimes things like holidays can throw us off a bit, best thing is to draw a line under it and start again, there is nothing positive about beating yourself up for missed runs. Good luck.

I think it's more of a motivation issue... feeling a bit lazy now that I know the runs are longer ;)

If it is motivation have a look here and maybe think about one of the follow on podcasts, they might help a bit with motivation

Absolutely delighted to be on week 2 at last ! Been battling weight and deep-rooted unfitness to get here since the start of September 😀

Well done on getting to week two, getting past week one is the hardest part and you’ve done that now 😀.

Thanks RFC. Just proves anyone can do this if they’re stubborn enough lol 😄

I'm starting week 4 tonight after a very mixed week 3 - started fantastically and ended not so fantastically (just a much harder run than the previous 2, which I wasn't expecting). So wish me luck! And good luck to everyone else, too :)

Hey everyone. I'm back again. So I finished the program last year. Haven't really run since then unfortunately. Any advice on what week to jump into. Tried week 1 but it was way too easy. I'm thinking maybe week 4?

Why not! Just go easy, and if it's too much, or anything hurts, do wk 3 next time.

Broke my arm, thought I couldn't run. Got fed up, decided to run anyway 🤪 I may regret it in the morning!
