I have recently added pilaties to my training programme, specifically aimed at runners. Loving it! Rignold would be proud of me, there is a whole range of squats involved!
2 runs to go until graduation. Never thought I'd say that. Only managing 3,5 km in 30 minutes. Don't seem able to go any quicker so still a long way to the 5k bit of c25k 😎
I have just completed week 4 day 1 and found it a very big step up from week 3. I had to slow my pace right down to complete the final run, but I did it.
I've just done wk4 day2 and decided to run it outside. It was a perfect morning, not too hot, not raining and I really enjoyed it. This was the first outdoor run of c25k and I'm planning to do it again on Friday to complete week 4
Well done, I love running outdoors. I live by the sea so it's a real treat. Completed wk4r3 this morning and enjoyed it a lot more than the previous 2. I think I got the pace just right today so I didn't have to slow down even for the final run. Looking forward to wk5r1 on Friday!
My absolute favourite place to run is by the sea near my mother's house, and that's where I'll be starting week 5 on Monday. I think I paced myself better without the treadmill dragging me forward and because I wasn't clock watching, each run seemed to go quicker.
Hello! I have just joined now and looking forward to new challenges ahead! Have been trying to run in the early morning before work as it is so hot at the moment (I live in Rome) but it's already hovering around 30 degrees at 6 am (it's been reaching over 40 during the daytime) and so I'm not always successful at dragging myself out... That said, I've discovered that running along the road through the Roman forum is a dream.
Today, I had decided to run a non-stop 5k outside, as my usual 30ish min run is only around 4.2k. I did run a 5k on the treadmill a short while after graduating which was 38 mins, and have done longer B210k runs with walk breaks.
To make my route longer I walked a good 5 mins beyond my normal starting point and decided Stepping Stones for my first 30 mins would keep my pace nice and slow.
There is a hill on my route and today I hit it at 20mins in. I imagined Irish John joining me from the side saying run at it, attack it so I did and chanted Irish John in my head as I ran up it...😆
Through the college and running on through the warm down walk now I got to the gate and checked my strava recording. 4.4k 😐.. So 5k is a REALLY long way I think...and I cross the road and start to run again. Although I was tired I slowly ran on and it wasn't that bad.
Got to the point where I could cross the road for home and peeked hopefully at the Strava...5.4k 😄Time 48 mins😣😅
So, today I discovered that a 5k run is really far, but that I can still do it without stopping, even if it takes me ages. Might wait a few runs before doing it again...
W5R3 this morning. Was very apprehensive before I did it but to my amazement I actually completed it. I am last starting to feel like I am on my way to being a runner!
Very well done! That's really encouraging. I've got mine coming up this Wednesday and can't see how I'll be able to complete it... I'll just have to give it a go and hope for the best LOL
I won't say it was easy but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I just kept telling myself I could do it over and over again as I was running. I was over the moon when I finished it. You just have to believe in yourself. Everybody on here keeps saying trust the programme and they are right. The training really does work.
