Over two weeks with no running

My knee seems to have settled but for the last couple of weeks I've had an awful cough and felt "chesty" so no running for over two weeks. I've missed it but am worried that the motivation will waiver.

Nah, your motivation is there, just taking a breather while it waits for your body to heal. The fact that you're missing the running proves that.

Being sick can sap your physical and emotional energy. Especially coughs and colds, I find. Concentrate on taking care of yourself: good food, early nights, lots of fluids. You know the drill, would tell others to do the same, so do it for you.

Perhaps take a gentle walk or two to get some good fresh air to help you sleep, and keep your muscles ticking over. When you're better, you'll feel like a run....😀

Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I had three weeks off for a calf injury just now and felt the same. When the leg got stronger I did some walking which helped, and have now managed three runs. You will get there. But take it easy and don't expect to start again where you left off. .. give your body a chance to recover and build up again. I can tell you it's great getting out again even running half what I used to!
