No running

There will be no running updates today.

I caught a nasty stomach bug the other night and was up all night puking.

It would be extremely unwise of me to try to get back on it barely 24 hours later, as that is not anywhere near enough time I need to replenish fuel and nutrients for my body.

Tonight I'm staying in bed watching Fargo, first the film, then the series, upon the recommendation of some friends.

This is my first ever run I'm missing since I started this journey. And it's the start of week 9. I would have liked to have sailed through the 9 weeks smoothly without missing a run but I think that's unrealistic. I've read a lot of other people's stories on here and I'm so inspired and in awe of the determination that all of you have come here and shown to overcome your challenges with c25k. Some of you have literally come a long way with your running journies so it makes me feel like I've had it easy in comparison to some of you and it reminds me that other people have had to face more difficulties on this and still got through it. I'm not going to beat myself up for missing a run or two right now.

I'm a little anxious about doing my first 30 minute run after a few days off with such an awful bug though...

Just focusing on getting plenty of fluids and sleep ☺ πŸ‘

Rest is just as important as training πŸ‘Š

PS. I thought I'd put a photo up of the sunset I got to see on my birthday last week πŸŒ‡

You’re not missing it, just postponing. Running straight after a stomach bag would be insane because your body needs time to rehydrate, so have patience, rest up, and remember that a week or so off now and again often means you come back refreshed and stronger. That victory week will be right here waiting, and so will all of us x

That's what I needed to hear, that I'd come back refreshed and stronger! Thanks! I'm just focusing on sipping water and resting now ☺ looking forwards to getting back on it once my body is ready

That sounds like BLEURGHHH!!!!!!!

Don't sweat over the next run. Get fully recovered.

A few days off will find you revitalised.

It takes a couple of weeks before you begin to lose condition.

Enjoy that final week.

I've had a couple of longer gaps of a week or even slightly more between runs (it's NOT missing runs, it's taking more rest days because you need them) and I did find the comeback run was always a good'un. Don't rush it, get yourself well :)

Thank you I'm now really looking forward to my comeback run. I may give myself a week to rest from this ☺ πŸ‘

That run will patiently wait for its ass kicking... No worries there. You’ll be fine on the next run, just look after yourself and watch the hydration and if anything you’ll come back with fresh legs and love it.

Oh I have so enjoyed your posts - hope you feel better soon. I started at the same time as you I think ( Dec 5th) but have had sore ankles and am only on week 6. You have been an inspiration !!
