Week 7,Run 1 - The One Where I make the 5K!!

I didn't expect to go out today,in damp and murky conditions,to increase my pace with no issues at all,and to complete the podcast having not only achieved 5K,but slightly bettered it! (5.2K in 37 mins) - I was on really good pace, and hit a second wind around 17 mins which made me go even faster! (and the downhill incline helped too of course!) Felt brilliant on the warm down and walk home :) I know you guys don't like me mentioning speed but on this occasion,I'm going to - 29 secs off my previous best!

I felt that I had it in me to go quicker today and paced myself accordingly when the need arose so I'm feeling in good shape :)

Take care with this need for speed. It could land you with problems. If you are new to running you need to go carefully as you can hurt yourself. Take it steady and grow those running legs slowly. Rein yourself in!

Good work though and you are doing really well with the programme. Sounds like you are enjoying yourself too! It's fun isn't it, and oh-so addictive.

Sorry to hear your weather was a bit grim. It's been glorious where I am so running was the order of the day.

I think the walking I do on the non run days and the walking I was doing pre C25K does help and has helped me,tried to rein myself in today but my body kept telling me I had plenty in the tank! :)

It is good fun though and think this is the last of the murky stuff for a while. It's going to get colder as we go through the week apparently..

Yes I heard that tomorrow sees much chillier conditions. However, that's ok cos we can run come what may. Running is not just for fine days! The test is how many will keep running through the winter! Most of us I hope!

I do have to agree with misswobble .. steady is best.. you can zoom away after you reach Graduation...:)

You are doing very well though :)

Thank you both! I might have taken leave of my senses and posted on my local Parkrun FB page - said I'd do the graduation run with them! Am I mad?!
