Finally...5k! 😊

After graduating last week I was determined to try to reach 5k. I run so slowly I didn't even reach 4K in 30 minutes so I knew this was going to be quite a challenge. My husband and our dog ran with me and we ran our local Parkrun route. Amazingly I did it! It took me 43 minutes but I didn't stop. The dog didn't even break into a trot I was so slow, but I feel so proud of this achievement. My husband treated me to brunch at the rather nice cafe in the hall afterwards to celebrate! Here I am at the finish line.

Congratulations, you look really happy and rightfully so, you must feel so proud of yourself for completing the 5k park run. I am on w6r1, so a way to go yet, but I am hoping to complete my first park run in late December. Here's to your next one!

I would love to do Parkrun, I just need to build up my confidence a bit first. Our local one seems to have a lot of fast club runners and the slowest person always seems to have a faster time than me! I'm aiming to do the Christmas one I think.

Somebody has to be last...... and it is such a generous gift to give to the person in front of you. Parkrun is about running an accurately timed run against yourself....nobody else....and you will get loads of encouragement and start to chip away at those minutes.

Lovely photo well done. I do a very slow jog 5K park run in 45 mins. But I am 62 next week and there's age difference to consider so according to calculations I apparently did it in 35 mins 😂😂😂😂
