I am 51 soon and have been stuck at just under 10 stone for a few years and just want to shift that stubborn fat. So, I am going to see how I get on, on here and start running. I am living in Peru, but visiting England regular, so it's difficult to get a routine. I have joined circuits in Lima 3 times a week, which is pretty tough.

Well done for starting the program. Some folks find it easier to run on set days and times to build the routine, others shift the days around, running every other day or so. You'll find what works for you.

The traveling can be tricky, but running on vacation has become a new joy since completing the program.

Happy running keep posting.

Good luck!

The programme is great for toning everything up and improving your fitness and confidence.

I'm jealous - it's a very long time since I saw the right side of 10 stone!

Well done for taking the first step! The C25k programme is just amazing, following it is one of the best decisions you'll ever make. Running might not help with weight loss on the scales but it certainly will tone your muscles and increase your fitness. Go slow, stretch, take your rest days and you'll be a runner before you know it!

Arr, thank you Melly, that's a really nice message. I live part of the time in Peru and visit UK regular, so it's good to have something I can do in both countries. I did my first run this morning, so looking forward to the next one!

well done for starting here it's a fun program. I am 54 and weighed 9.5 stone when I started 9 weeks ago. I have completed all the runs and now weight 8 stone 13 so I'm pretty pleased. I intend to keep running and want to drop my weight to 8.5 but we will see as I am finding it hard now

Hi, wow, you did well in 9 weeks, is it just the running that helped you lose weight or change of diet too. You sound around the same weight as I am, I fluctuate from 9.5 stone to just under 10 stone. I did circuits last night and plan to do my first run today. Well done, hope you get those last pounds off!

No deliberate change of diet so I am sure I am running it off. Not much exercise between runs except an occasional bike ride or longer walk. Weight didn't start to come off until week 6 but now I'm running 30 mins it is still falling. It's great because it is giving me a real boost that all my struggles are having some effect.

Well done, so you were around the same weight as I am now when you started. I want to lose weight, but can't seem to get under 9.5 stone, so hopefully this will bust those stubborn pounds and I am only just 5ft 1inches. Keep at it.

same height as me 5ft 1, I think exercise and a healthy diet must be the answer to shifting the weight. Mine is certainly going down now I am doing longer runs

That's good to know. I did my second run today, I do other exercise besides this, but the running seems harder! I hope my weight shifts soon! We are flying today from Lima to UK. I hope I am not too jet lagged to run Friday?

56, 5'10", 14 and a half stone, Asthma, extwenty plus cigs a day habits, screwed up footbones, literally never ran more than a hundred consecutive steps in my life. June 1st I did Day Oneof the programme and hovered between wondering if I was going to have a massive coronary/lung collapse and hoping for a quick death to put me out of the pain.

Yesterday I was moaning about how I 'only' ran a little over two miles and did not hit my 'usual' target nowadays of three and one tenth (5K) and how I had been confident that it woudl be the day when I would run three and half.

I have lost weight, body is definitely toning up - pants starting to fall down etc - but more importantly I feel good about myself and have a wonderful new interest in life outside my front door :)

Hope you stay and run with us. We all have a great time here and while we might run on our own, we never run alone :)

This place is the best! For motivation, the odd moan when you feel like it, for support, advice. You name it, there'll be someone here to help. I'm 55 and had not ever run anything over 200-400 yards in my life, even at school (ha showing my age there...yards!) I'm fitter, more flexible, a totally different shape (in a good way) and I can run for well over half an hour now. The programme is amazing, but the support on here is even more amazing. Have a great first run and tell us all about it afterwards :)
