1yr on....Still running!

Hi there! I haven't posted on here in a long time, but I completed C25K a year ago and I wanted to say how much it has changed and improved my life!

I remember my first run and thinking I would never be able to run for longer then 60seconds, and now I can regularly run for well over 60minutes!

Not only am I fitter and stronger but I also have friends that have seen my progress and also now go running. Inspiring others sounds a bit self indulgent however I now have running buddies which makes it much more fun and we encourage each other! I even go running with my 8yr old son (pictured!) and although he moans about leaving whatever electronic he was on, it gets us out in the fresh air and spending time together and he likes to run faster then me!

I still hurt when I run, I still have to drag myself out on occasions but the feeling when I've finished is simply brilliant and the sense of achievement is worth every bit of it!

The running community is supportive and non judgmental, no one cares about your pace or time, just that you are running. I have even completed a couple of 10ks this year, which I was super nervous about, but the atmosphere was amazing, everyone was so supportive and inspiring and it really showed that running is for anyone at any level - which is why I think it's so brilliant!!

If you have just started C25K just keep going, even when it's hideous, it really does get easier! It was the best thing I've done in a long time!

Lovely post Cazzza - and how great to be sharing your running with your son and friends. It really is a life changer isn't it!

That's great to hear as I recline on the injury couch (seriously, not sarcastically). I don't think it's self indulgent to recognise that your behaviour has inspired others to improve their health, long may it last. Happy running!

I also graduated a while ago (10 mths) and second everything you say! The running community is definately one of the most inclusive, and I know I am in it for the long haul now! Happy running🙂
