Still running thanks to C25K!

I haven't posted in a long long while but thought I'd write a bit about my experiences since completing C25K. I never thought I'd be a runner and really struggled in the first few weeks but 3 years on I am still running. Whenever I'm finding it tough going I always think back to when I first started and how much I battled with my mind to 'just keep going'! After completing C25K I signed up to a few 10km races and slowly built up my distances which helped with my weight loss and also to keep me focused. Last year with a few friends and hubby I completed the Great North Run half marathon and 6 weeks after that completed my first full marathon. I never in my wildest dreams thought this would be possible! So for any beginners out there really do believe in yourself your body is capable of amazing things. Keep focused and never let anyone tell you you can't because you can!

Its great isn't it. I still think I found the last run of week 5 harder than any of the marathon!x

yes there were some tough times. I remember on a run thinking I’d die when I came across a street sigh that said ”Hill Crest” so I knew the worst was over and I topped the blasted thing 🥵

I found it a lot easier on the actual day and doubted myself right up until then. You go for it! C25K has definitely helped me change my life both physically and mentally for the better! I try not to be a running bore but I can't help it, I'm always recommending it to friends and family.

I am a bit of a running bore too! Luckily my OH also runs and my teenage sons humour me because they can see how much happier I am as a runner! Thanks for the encouragement but still not sure about a marathon!😮😮😉
