W3 runs - take two.

Did W3R1 and it wasn't as hard as I'd convinced myself it would be although it was hard! Unfortunately there's been a bit of a family crisis this week which meant that I didn't get out to do runs 2 and 3. Today I feel physically and emotionally tired so am having a rest day, then tomorrow will start again. I feel i should start week 3 again and complete all 3 runs rather than just 2 before going on to week 4. Is this the best way to do it?

Sorry you've had a crisis to deal with. Hopefully getting back out running will help. I would see how you feel after 2 more runs - if you feel good move forward - if not repeat it one more time. Let your body decide.

Thank you. I'll do that and see how it goes. I am enjoying running and looking forward to being able to run 5k in the future.

Exactly what OldPossum said. Do your next two runs and then see how you feel. A family crisis is enough to deal with. Take things easy and go with how you feel.:)

Just my tuppence worth but I would go on the next run and not focus at all on it being a 'success' day - just relax back into it and be kind to yourself and have that little bit of time just for you. :) At a similar point in my programme that is what I did and I had a ball - I decided to see how SLOWLY it was possible for me to go and still be running :) Not only was it really relaxing, fun and a total antidote to the stress that had accumulated - I actually did a LOT better than I would have thought possible if I had set any kind of distance/speed goal that day :) The only 'best' way to do this programme is to make it work for you - and mostly people like having fun when they work ;)

See how the next two runs go - if okay, I would just move on.

Good luck!

Thank you John and Ullyrunner. I think you're right. I need to relax and just go and enjoy it. I'm going out again in the morning. Will let you know how I get on when I've done the next 2. Thanks everyone for the support :-).

You will do fine - ANY distance/speed/time combination once you are out that door is a win ;)
