One day or two between runs?

Hello fonts of all knowledge!

3 runs a week means a 2 day break at some point. I'm guessing it is not a good idea to move on to the next week after the 2 day break?

I don't think it matters between which runs you have your two rest days. Mine varied depending on what else was going on during the week. It didn't hurt to have the rest days at the end of the week. At the beginning of the programme I used to start my week on Monday, do run 2 on Wednesday and run 3 on Friday and had the weekend off. But then I varied it depending on what I needed to do on different days.

I'm sure you'll work out what suits you best.

Thank you! You didn't feel it made a difference then? ie felt a little harder after a 2 day break?

No, it didn't feel harder. If anything I was more recovered and ready to face the new challenges of the new week.

I have 2 days before starting the next week. I like to feel I’m fully recovered before I step it up.

We run on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday so have the weekend off and it’s fine

A two day break is fine. Sometimes (especially as the runs get longer) you might feel you would benefit from an extra day 'off'. I sometimes missed more than 2 days when I was busy and I got there in the end.

I don't think it matters. Sometimes other things happen that mean you have a longer break. I used to worry about that but it never seems to make a difference - apart from how good it feels to have a running day !

The guide to the plan covers this and many other useful things healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

C25K weeks do not have to coincide with calendar weeks and as long as you have at least one day between runs, you can do as you feel.

At least one...but two is fine... I run Sunday, Tuesday and Friday :)

If you have two rest days, that is two days of non impact stamina and strength exercise, instead of one... all good:)

I did, or tried to, Monday Wednesday Friday and then had the weekend off before starting the next week. But sometimes I went four days between runs send it was fine if not better.

I have not got into a routine of which days to run , maybe that's my down fall ?

My last run was Sunday I was chopping at the bit to get out and run , Yesterday (Tuesday) was my next one , I just couldn't be bothered,

Will I go today ? Who knows ?
