Week 5, R3 - big wet lung sponges gone!

Wow! Who would have thought I could run for 20 minutes? In week one, my lungs felt as thought they had big wet sponges lodged in them but the big wet sponges have gone now. I did have mini ones in the last 2 minutes, after the hill, but it isn't really worth stopping running in the last 2 minutes is it?

Hardest bit was definitely not thinking about running. I find it much easier to run when I think about work, friends, the dog, holidays etc. Anything but running. This was definitely a challenge today.

The other thing I really noticed today was that once I started my warm down walk, all of a sudden, happy thoughts came into my head - the flowers, the day trip on the broads tomorrow, how wonderful it would be to have my employee development review later today!!! Those endorphins certainly play havoc with the mind!

So, I'm looking forward to next week and am going to make a list of nice things to think about while running!

Massive congrats and well done! I was worried I wouldn't be able to take my mind off it either, but just figured what's 20 minutes when I've been working for this for nearly 6 weeks :). Also something about running early morning for me, think seeing everyone head off to work in the ratrace helps me to enjoy it all the more! Hah!

Woo Hoo ! Yes , Well done you ! :-)

It is a toughie this one , but perfectly do-able, definitely a mental challenge as much as a physical one .

This is a real turning point I think, a massive milestone and the feeling of completing this is just amazing .

Good Luck for Week 6 , keep going, youre doing great ! :-) xxx

Endorphins are brilliant aren't they? I've definitely felt a lot happier and less stressed in the last 5 weeks. Even the husband has commented on it.

Well done! 20 mins is such a big step, so woo hoo! Like you, I have to think about anything else and let my mind wander as if I think too much about running it seems too hard, but I'm on to week 9 on Sunday so it must be working😀 Good luck and enjoy your weekend
